Nowadays, the insertion of new technologies in work environments is more and more frequent. The Intensive Care Units (ICUs), use in a high degree the resources available by technologies, and these resources has become primordial to accomplish the work. This article is the result of a qualitative research, that tried to identify the new technologies implications in the construction of subjectivity of ICU professionals at Hospital Regional Alto Vale, through participant observations, individual semi-structured interviews and the everyday ethnography. During the permanence in field and data analysis, it was possible to notice that the quoted professionals consider their work dependant of the technologies, but they talk about their fear because of possibilities of failure in the technologies. Other features of the work were analyzed, as the interpersonal relationships, the presence of death and the feelings related to their work.
