Abstract

GONZALEZ, Elí Orlando Lozano. Political culture in university students: A comparison between intercultural universities and universities from León, Guanajuato. Psicol. Am. Lat. [online]. 2014, n.27, pp.35-65. ISSN 1870-350X.

This paper aims to compare some features shaping the political culture from two samples of Mexican university students: students from three Intercultural universities in three different regions in the country, and students from universities in León, Guanajuato, in the Mexican Central Region. A questionnaire was applied to the students. Seven questions were resumed for this article, the questions inquire how the students are informed about politics, their trust in authorities and their actions related to vote and political parties. Results show diversity in the way different students give meaning and live politics; but distrust related to government authorities and to political parties is observed. Such rejection makes itself present with greater emphasis in intercultural universities.

Keywords : Political culture; university students; intercultural universities.
