Abstract

QUAGLIATTO, Helga S. Machado et al. Evolutions and revolutions of the psychoanalytic children clinic: from the advice of the parents to the joint parents-children evaluation-intervention. Contextos Clínic [online]. 2008, vol.1, n.1, pp.43-48. ISSN 1983-3482.

Studies about psychoanalytic evaluation and intervention with children indicate that the development of new technical models promoted a series of evolutions and revolutions in the contemporary clinic. After Freud, Klein, Winnicott, Bion and Bick, a process of change takes place, recommending Linkage Psychoanalysis and the inclusion of parents in the work with children. Other research continued this trajectory, contributing new discussions. In line with these changes, in 2006 we started a study group in Uberlândia-MG, in order to study on the basis of clinical experience, the joint parents-children psychoanalytic evaluation-intervention. This proposal, which includes the participation of the whole family group, not only analyzes the child's mental functioning and emotional development which motivated the appointment, but also the parents-children interaction. Therefore, the work focuses on two main points: the children and the family group's communication to integrate emotional experience. In relation to the therapeutic alternatives, this technical pattern can include several variables to be analyzed in post-studies. It should be noted that one of the purposes is that the group itself, with the analyst's considerations, decides on individual analysis for one or more members of the family group. In this way, it is essential to recognize the importance of the whole of clinical experiences that promotes theoretical reflections and consistent and various techniques as well as to respect them, thus making connections and cutouts according to what the analytical work demands in its uniqueness

Keywords : child psychoanalysis; clinical revolutions; whole dealing parents-children evaluation-intervention.
