Abstract

LEAL, Mara de Souza; AGUILLERA, Fernanda  and  MELO-SILVA, Lucy Leal. Psychology: organizations and work journal (revista psicologia: organizações e trabalho) - analysis of a decade of scientific production. Rev. Psicol., Organ. Trab. [online]. 2011, vol.11, n.2, pp.6-20. ISSN 1984-6657.

This state-of-the-art study aimed to analyze the articles published in the Brazilian journal "Psychology: Organizations and Work"; in its ten years of existence. We analyzed 20 issues, totaling 137 articles, organized according to the following categories: type of paper, number of authors, authors' gender, institutional affiliation, home state, subjects, and topics. The results showed a predominance of research reports and co-authored papers, female authors prevailing. Most of the publications are linked to the University of Brasilia, highlighting central-western Brazil, especially the Federal District, as a major center for this area of research. The themes include: "labor relations," "strategies, assessment, and intervention procedures in Organizational and Work Psychology," and "health and job satisfaction."; This shows that the studies evaluated are focused more on practice and on developing strategies than on the construction of theoretical models, despite the reduced number of experimental research reports. The need is identified for greater investment in research in the other regions of Brazil that includes the cultural and economic diversity of the country, as well as more space for experiments and authorship by psychology professionals.

Keywords : Organizational Psychology; Psychology Applied to Work; literature review; scientific production.
