This study aimed to investigate the meanings and explanations of infractional acts committed by adolescents in conflict with the law. Through the method of analysis of social representations, we sought to investigate in the discursive practices, interpretations of criminal acts committed by the adolescents deprived of freedom. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews, contextualized through participant observation of the quotidian upon internment institution. A thematic analysis of several speeches indicated that the acts are represented as instruments of intimidation, power and survival. In the imagination of young offenders, the bond with the culture of organized crime is a existential alternative and possibility of access to consumption, pertinence group and social inclusion.
