Abstract

AMARAL, Letícia Maia  and  MARTINS, André Amorim. Scale of Therapeutic Process as instrument of a Case Study. Rev. NUFEN [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.1, pp.205-221. ISSN 2175-2591.

Among the various approaches that have emerged and influenced the field of Psychology is humanism, which has given rise to forms of psychotherapy such as: Person-Centered Approach (ACP), Gestalt-therapy and Logotherapy. We used this theory in order to promote the case study developed through an experience of individual care, in order to understand how the therapeutic relationship was established. We used the Therapeutic Process Scale as a reference, conceptualized in 7 stages. In the case study, the Participant (44-year-old woman) reached - among the seven stages - the third and fourth stage of psychotherapy, considered as a moment of great importance in the therapeutic process due to the realization of feelings and self knowledge. It was possible to establish, in a satisfactory degree, the necessary conditions for the personality change. As a conclusion, therefore, the development of the client is an irregular process and that it is neither ready nor finished.

Keywords : Psychotherapeutic techniques; Client centered therapy; Humanistic psychology; Empathy.
