Access to health services has been a constant challenge in the trajectory of LGBT people. Considering this, this study aimed to analyze the perception of LGBT people about their access to basic health units in Guaiúba, Ceará. The qualitative method was used, using a semi-structured interview and a socioeconomic questionnaire. In total, seven people were interviewed between August and October 2019. It was identified the perpetuation of rights violations that reinforced practices of inequity and invisibility of the health demands of this population. Disrespect for the social name and attitudinal barriers were practices pointed out, creating chasms between LGBT people and health services. Therefore, it is necessary that professionals can invest in the ability to dialogue, build and share care that legitimizes human diversity.
