Abstract

ROCHA, Patrícia Lorena Resende; PEGORARO, Renata Fabiana  and  PROCHNO, Caio Cesar Souza Camargo. Psychosocial Care Centers according to Their Users: An Integrative Review. Rev. Psicol. Introduction:

Psychosocial care centers (CAPS) are open services aimed at caring for people in severe psychological distress. This article provided an overview of users’ perception of CAPS.

Method:

This is an integrative review of literature developed from the SciELO Brazil and LILACS databases resulting in the analysis of 12 references.

Results:

Two themes stood out in articles published from 2009 to 2019: (1) CAPS as a place of treatment and (2) Points that need improvement.

Discussion:

The articles point out user satisfaction with the service, mainly in relation to the bond with the team, and dissatisfaction with the environment, as far as the physical structure is concerned. Conclusions: The bond with the team and the problems in the physical structure of CAPS are the most sensitive points pointed out by users and deserve to be evaluated by the municipalities as a way to strengthen adherence to the service.

Keywords : psychosocial care center; evaluation of services; mental health.
