Abstract

AQUINO, Julio Roberto Groppa. The controversial place of psychology in education: contributions to the critique of the concept of psycho-pedagogical subject. Psicol. Ensino & Form. [online]. 2014, vol.5, n.1, pp.05-19. ISSN 2177-2061.

This article aims at problematizing the contemporary alliances between psychological and educational fields, underlining the psychologizing effects that such alliances seem to carry. Making use of an argumentative ground based on Foucault's thinking, the discussions are devoted to a critical deconstruction of the notion of psychopedagogical subject, nurtured by the scientistic bet on a human interiority supposedly structured according to the psychological development of individuals. Thus our efforts focused on arguing in favor of a de-substantialization of the psychological scope per se, referring the subjective experience to a myriad of variable life forms. The final discussions head to an analytical reappropriation of the encounter between educational practices, his psychologizing ballast and neoliberal rationality, responsible for the dissemination of the belief in lifetime educability of citizens as an axis of crossed games between citizenship, education and the truth of oneself.

Keywords : psychology and education; psycho-pedagogical subject; neoliberalism; educationalization.
