Abstract
BINKOWSKI, Gabriel Inticher. Cruelty and alibi in the psychoanalytical technique. A reading of Derrida's letter to the psychoanalysts. Analytica [online]. 2018, vol.7, n.13, pp.192-207. ISSN 2316-5197.
More than fifteen years after the conference of Jacques Derrida during the General States of Psychoanalysis in Paris, a return to the text left by the philosopher friend of psychoanalysis imposes a reading of cruelty as an elementary political and psychic phenomenon of subjectivity. Derrida's notion of cruelty, referred to as a drive, refers to Artonin Artaud's propositions of a "theater of cruelty", in which the scene is no longer submissive to the text or to the will of an author-god, to a representation of a written scene. Derrida appeals to psychoanalysts for work without an alibi on this notion of cruelty and its implications for the very effects of the death drive in psychoanalysis. Here we are also invited to think of the notion of psychoanalytic technique. It implies a work on another scene, unconscious, of another order, a scene that marks another economy of desire. The technique must therefore be conceived as a tool without alibi so that we can bypass the resistances that prevent us from precisely considering the implication of the death drive in psychic life.
