Abstract

ANTONIO, Priscila. The body beween the can and the want: a pulsional movement in the presence of physical limitation. Analytica [online]. 2019, vol.8, n.14, pp.1-18. ISSN 2316-5197.

It is a study on clinical cases in the presence of the suffering of the body in instances of intestinal ostomy, developed at the Hospital Universitário de Brasília and initiated in August 2012 after approval by the Ethics Committee on Research of the Universidade de Brasília (number 33/12). We used unstructured interviews (recorded and extensively transcribed). Our analysis is done on the use of modal verbs: to want, should and can. Two analytic categories emerged: 1. The experience of the material body: living out the ostomy; 2. The self-care movement: to live despite the ostomy, reinforcing the thesis of a pulsionalized movement expressed by use of the verbs cited above.

Keywords : Body; Ostomy; Pulsional movement; Psichopathology.
