The feminine in psychoanalysis was conceived in various ways since Freud and received a prominent place in the teaching of Lacan. Based on the contributions made by Lacan from the 1970s, the objective of this article is to analyze the "no limits" as a characteristic of the feminine and to identify the consequences of this for women. Initially Freud emphasized penisneid as a characteristic, but later Lacan proposes that the feminine is not all submitted to phallic logic and, therefore, women experience extra jouissance that does not have symbolic coverage. It is concluded that feminine jouissance brings women closer to the real, and this finding can be identified in acts attributed to "true women".
