Abstract

MANSANO, Sonia Regina Vargas. Resentment in the Context of Affective Immaterial Work. Rev. Subj. [online]. 2020, vol.20, n.2, pp.1-10. ISSN 2359-0769.  https://doi.org/10.5020/23590777.rs.v20i2.e8823.

This article seeks to analyze how immaterial work can open space for the expression of resentment, bringing affective consequences for workers, users, and organizations. Notably, immaterial work has gained relevance both in organizations and among professionals, and affective dimensions, such as cordiality, attention, and trust, have become part of contemporary work relationships, being presented by the market as a differential. It turns out that the affective field, as will be argued in this theoretical article, is configured through unpredictable subjective variations, which produce the most diverse effects in everyday social relations. Disregarding this variable dimension, an attempt emerges to prescribe, train, and control affections to produce more capital. The study shows, through social psychology, philosophy, and sociology, how such a situation is conducive to the installation and dissemination of resentment in the context of affective immaterial work.

Keywords : immaterial work; resentment; affection; social psychology.
