Abstract

VARELLA, Maria do Rosário Dias; LACERDA, Fernanda  and  MADEIRA, Michelângela. Therapeutic Accompaniment: from the construction of a treatment network to the reconstruction of social relationships. Psyche (Sao Paulo) [online]. 2006, vol.10, n.18, pp.129-140. ISSN 1415-1138.

Every branch of Mental Health treatment is like a thread, when they are sown, a tissue net starts to form. This net can be tighter or looser, depending on the demand. Its aim is to allow movement from place to place. It is necessary to analyze each part of it, not only to guide the treatment, but also to know if it offers flexibility to permit the patients’ flow, without being tied. Therapeutic Accompaniment, by the fact that it privileges being with the patient inside and outside the reference spots of this network, allows him to circulate, which is essential for his reorganization. We will present two clinical cases which demonstrate Therapeutic Accompaniment possibilities in constructing a network of relationships and providing social insertion.

Keywords : Mental health treatment; Treatment network; Therapeutic accompaniment; Social insertion; Network of relationships.
