Abstract

MACIEL, Josemar de Campos. Stopping Gargantua: an exploration of the strength of decolonial criticism. Rev. Polis Psique [online]. 2021, vol.11, n.spe, pp.22-45. ISSN 2238-152X.

In this text we propose an analysis of some factors that produced the ideal of development. We present it as the result of an acceleration that produced the effort of forgetting and silencing ancestral historical dynamisms. At the present crisis of this movement, it is necessary to rediscover and use these forces, to integrate a sustainable and integrated vision of human life, focusing upon the idea of "criticism". The methodology of the work combines historical essay and philosophical reflection. The expected result is the dissemination of critical thinking on development that takes distance from Eurocentrism, favoring a localized view, from the Great South and the Great America.

Keywords : Criticism of development; Silencing; Resistance; Hospitality.
