Abstract

COSTA, Samira Lima da  and  MACIEL, Tania Maria de Freitas Barros. The senses of the community: A memory of neighborhood and intergenerational buildings in community studies. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2009, vol.61, n.1, pp.60-72. ISSN 1809-5267.

Studies about collective memory in general and on neighborhood's memory, in particular, are interesting objects of research and intervention in Psicossociology, although still poorly explored. The memory of the neighborhood is at the border while at the point of encounter between the psychological and social studies, considering both collective productions as reserving space and value for each individual contribution, although contradictory. This complementarity of staff with the collective, not the overlap and not the override, but is a complex sum of knowledge and looks, it is proposed to draw inclusive memory, this being the result of sewing between memories counted, the readings of memories and the stories - official or not - referring to a particular area, at a specific time. This proposal is further enriches when, in addition to investigate the collective memory among residents of the same place, also considers the possibility of working with elderly and children, promoting the recovery of the posts of both generations in the community and at the same time, favoring the continuity of those memories.

Keywords : Neighborhood's memory; Psicossociology; Construction of intergenerational memory; Inclusive memory.
