Abstract

DI DOMENICO, Cristina  and  PIACENTE, Telma. Acreditación en Psicología en el Cono Sur de América. Psicol. Am. Lat. [online]. 2011, n.22, pp.1-18. ISSN 1870-350X.

Since 1990's decade, geopolitical and socioeconomic reorganizations in the region of South America boosted the attention on the quality of formative processes and the progressive sanction of national control standards regarding their evaluation and/or regulation in Higher Education. In the area of Psychology that activated the involvement of psychological, scientific and professional organizations in the reexamination of their training proposals. With dissimilar emphasis and degrees of advance in the different countries of the region, the evaluation procedures settled in the heart of a controversy that made quality and accountability to be antagonic, but this has not prevented from covering all the ministerial paths ending in the respective accreditation. Current challenge should be to present research contributions to the processes in march as to achieve general and specific parameters adapted to the realities on which evaluation procedures are printed. It is important to say that in these countries the evaluation and / or accreditation of the quality might help to consolidate a necessary social recognition of the profession in the diversity of its fields of application. For it the actions must be orientated from what has been named as "responsive evaluation", that one that is sensitive to the own addressees and which includes essential aspects as the political and ethical uses of the evaluation. In this presentation the actions undertaken in three countries in the region and its future projection will be analyzed, both in metaevaluative terms and of management feasibility of the suggested changes.
