Resumen
CABRAL, André Fernando Gil Alcon. The law from desire to enjoyment: the tyranny of the father in Freud and Lacan. Reverso [online]. 2021, vol.43, n.81, pp.95-104. ISSN 0102-7395.
In 1897, Freud stepped back from the concept of perverse father; however, the father returned as a despot in Totem and taboo. The avoidance of a father-of-enjoyment can be also seen in Lacan, since the tyrannical law was often understood through the concept of superego and the father was interpreted as the place of desire and of civilizing law. Lacan belatedly acknowledged the phantasmatic presence of a father-of-enjoyment unable to distinguish neurosis from perversion. Thus, the aim of the current article is to investigatethe father's status in psychoanalysis.
