MARTINELI, Telma Adriana Pacifico; FUGI, Nataly de Carvalho  y  MILESKI, Keros Gustavo. The historical-cultural theory and the importance of toys: approaching Pysical Education. Psicol. esc. educ. [online]. 2009, vol.13, n.2, pp.251-259. ISSN 1413-8557.

In this study we aim at examining the toy related child development, from the Historico-Cultural Theory. We based our work on primary and secondary sources and also based on the reality of working with children in institutional projects in public schools. In order to understand the child psyche and the importance of toy for the psychological development we studied Vygotsky and Leontiev. Concerning this target we analyze the expression of children in reality, taking as the object the toy and gym games. We conclude that the toy is the children´s dominant activity, so we need to recover it when teaching physical education. This will contribute to the child development and the process of humanization. Studying Vygotsky´s work is a way of understanding human development from a socio-historical perspective .
