The lack of consideration for the cultures of origin has further contributed to the erratic path of the field of Psychology born in Europe and in the United States of North-America, by creating an epistemology doomed to failure. But other destinies are possible if we construct them. Whilst there’s an excess of north american and European psychology applied in Latin America, latin-american psychology is applied in Europe and in the United States of North America. Latin-American psychology is not the same as Psychology in Latin America. The unity of Psychology resides in its intentionality, in the meaning of its existence. Based on the path which has been traced since its beginnings, it would seem that the unity of Psychology resides in its very name. But this is the lesser of the worries. The most important one is what are we going to do with the world, what are we going to do with our countries. The epistemological nucleus of psychology is the true meaning of its practice. The unity of Latin-American Psychology (emerging, surviving, creative) will be / is an intentional unity.
