Resumen

GUEVARA MARTINEZ, Javier. Metodología de investigación para la caracterización de corredores urbanos. Psicol. Am. Lat. [online]. 2007, n.10. ISSN 1870-350X.

In this report we show a new methodology to characterise Urban Corridors (UC). Initially formulated for the city of Puebla, Mexico, it can also be applied in other cities. We analyse the use of the classic urban techniques along with the crisis of the conventional urban approach, arguing the necessity of incorporating the human dimension into the urban planning. Accordingly, we present the multifunctionality of the UC in the organization of the city by developing an alternative discourse based on the first findings of our fieldwork. This is summarised in an official inexact typology of the UC and its heterogeneity. We show primarily that there are fractions in the corridor and corridors are not homogeneous as thought before. This finding fundamentally modifies the direction of management in urban planning. Secondly, we correct the current correlation between the "lifestyle" in the neighborhood, and the behaviour of the UC, which demonstrate the mechanism of influence. By the use of the category "lifestyle", we analyze the corridor’s area of influence, formulating a system of influences. The method we used to arrange the indicators is that of the principal components and the recognition of patterns.
