Resumen

MARTINS, Karla Patrícia Holanda  y  KUPERMANN, Daniel. Hunger: the threshold of shame. Trivium [online]. 2017, vol.9, n.2, pp.199-209. ISSN 2176-4891.  https://doi.org/10.18379/2176-4891.2017v2p.199.

Based on un understanding of the taboo on the subject of hunger, we present an experience with concentration camps that took place in Ceará in three different moments of the state's history - 1877, 1915 and 1932 -, and its testimonies, considering, in a psychoanalytical perspective, the possible relationships between that silence zone in our history and the problems we face when dealing with this experience. Therefore, we intend to develop a dialog with a clinical work that has been carried out for the last ten years in a third sector institution in Fortaleza which deals with poorly nourished children and their mothers, both deeply marked by the experience of the lack of food. Making echo to Sándor Ferenczi's studies on the subject of trauma, we consider that the subjective experience of hunger produces a kind of shame originated by an identification with the aggressor.
