Resumen

SILVA, Marcella Monteiro de Souza e. Transcultural Clinic: the exercise of a decolonial psychoanalysis. J. psicanal. [online]. 2021, vol.54, n.101, pp.143-159. ISSN 0103-5835.

This work presents the birth and development of the Transcultural Clinic, a clinical model created with the objective of providing psychoanalytic care for the migrant population. Clinical vignettes illustrate how the three basic principles of the method - universality, complementarity and decentering - emerge in the "extended setting" of the transcultural family care. In addition, this work highlights the importance of knowing other cultures and realities for a more open and horizontal hearing in relation to patients' cultural assumptions. Finally, the work argues that, as the Transcultural Clinic supposes a non-hierarchical relation between cultures and knowledges, and includes "cultural alterity" in the treatment, it can inspire a psychoanalytic practice that effectively considers and embraces the cultural differences existing in Brazil, extending its reach to population subgroups that do not have access to psychoanalysis.

Palabras clave : psychoanalysis; Transcultural Clinic; migration; culture; Moro.
