PEREIRA TERCERO, Roberto. Filio-parental violence: factors that stimulate their emergence. Constr. psicopedag. [online]. 2017, vol.25, n.26, pp.5-16. ISSN 1415-6954.
Filio-Parental Violence (FPV) is understood as repeated, aggressive patterns of behaviour directed towards parents or other adults in loco parentis, and involves conduct that is physical (e.g. striking, pushing, throwing objects), verbal (e.g. repeated insults or threats), and/or non-verbal (e.g. threatening gestures, breaking valued possessions). As in other Western countries, has become significantly more common in Spain and Brazil over the past years. How can we understand this general increase in so different countries? Certainly, there must be shared common factors, which can help to understand this alarming increase of this type of family violence. The article describes some individual and family, sociocultural and educational factors that can contribute to their understanding.
