Resumen

ASSUNCAO, Patrícia Franco. Psychosocial intervention in adhd during rehabilitation. Rev. bras.ter. cogn. [online]. 2019, vol.15, n.2, pp.132-140. ISSN 1808-5687.  https://doi.org/10.5935/1808-5687.20190019.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is reported to be more common in children with Cerebral Palsy than in the general population. In the SARAH Network this diagnosis is predominant, making such information important for the rehabilitation professional and for the families of the children attended. This paper aims to present a multiple approach to treat attention deficit hyperactivity symptoms in a child with Cerebral Palsy during his rehabilitation treatment, focusing on psychosocial interventions. It explains the importance of the partnership between the team and the family, based on the SARAH Method. Cognitive-behavioral techniques are approached as necessary knowledge to the child rehabilitation psychologist, even without acting in the form of psychotherapy. The data correspond to the period from 2011 to 2016 and were obtained via electronic medical records. The expansion of the social repertoire, gains in school learning and behavioral self-regulation, the development of a positive self-concept and self-care skills were positive results, qualifying the relationship between child and family. It is understood, finally, that a clinical case may help health professionals to delineate therapeutic behaviors in the treatment of children with Cerebral Palsy and Attention Deficit Disorder and Hyperactivity associated.

Palabras clave : ADHD; Cerebral palsy; Cognitive behavioral therapy.
