The article investigates the historical trajectory of the Psychiatric Reform movement in Goiania, GO, aiming at mapping the implementation of the first substitutive services in the municipality, between the years 2000 and 2004. The temporal cut refers to the changes in mental health care policies in national and local levels, especially after the enactment of Law 10.216/2001. The investigation is based on the historiographic method having as procedures such as bibliographical and documentary analysis. The theoretical foundation covers introductory aspects of the phenomenon in question and presents some developments of the Psychiatric Reform movement in Brazil and in Goiânia. Subsequently, the mapping of the implantation of the first substitute services of Goiânia is developed. The work allowed systematizes the main events and social actors related to the Psychiatric Reform in Goiania, publicizing the historical trajectory of this movement and contribute to academic knowledge in the field of mental health in Brazil.
