Based on a patient’s dream and taking the Laplanche theoretical perspective, the author questions the lacanian assimilation of oniric mechanisms - condensation and displacement - by the figures of speech known as metaphor and metonymy. This is followed by an analysis of the statute of metaphors of the unconscious as “forgotten” links in the semantic tension, which originated them.
