MELLO, Carlos Antônio Andrade. The absent woman and the overwhelming femininity in Sarapalha. Reverso [online]. 2008, vol.30, n.55, pp.73-76. ISSN 0102-7395.
Sarapalha is a short story taken from a collection written by Guimarães Rosa, called Sagarana. This story is built around the conversation held between to lonely men who both are suffering from bodies seized by malaria and from being abandoned by the same woman. Her absence contrasts with the many feminine representations that surround them. Absence and passion trigger off the feminization of the characters.
