This article explores possible connections between humor and psychoanalysis, departing from two studies by Freud - Jokes and their relation to the unconscious (1905) and Humor (1927) - and its further repercussions in the psychoanalytic tradition, in order to discuss issues such as: relationships between Freudian humor and Jewish humor; metapsychological aspects of humor; pertinence of humor in psychoanalytic clinic; humor and gai savoir in Lacan’s teaching.
