SOCHA, Alexandre. The vocal sound and its effects within the transitionality. J. psicanal. [online]. 2010, vol.43, n.78, pp.43-56. ISSN 0103-5835.
Starting from Winnicott’s concept of transitionality, this study aims at an understanding of voice and the effects of vocal melody from three different perspectives. At first, through the impact of maternal speech, the sound of the voice is recognized in its possible quality of phenomena and transitional object. Then, standing on the horizon of potential space, its influence is identified in the origins of musical appreciation. Finally, the way that vocal melody appears in the analytic space is explored through the dynamics of transferential and countertransferential relationship. In this sense, a brief approach to the concept of analytic third (Ogden) is made, in order to contemplate the complexity of voice and sound phenomena in the analytic process.
