This research aims to determine the phase of the acquisition of figurative language, involving metonyms, metaphors and structures that involve mood. References were selected from Cognitive Linguistics, based on Interactional studies and Mental Space Theory, including the notions of mapping, blending and frame shifting. The results showed a hierarchical organization of the phenomena. Children had dominate the knowledge of projection between 5/6 years old, frame-shifting between 7/8 years old and blending between 8/9 years old.
