Resumen

RIBES-INESTA, Emilio. Functional dettachment and Aristotelian causality: A theoretical analysis. Acta comport. [online]. 2015, vol.23, n.1, pp.5-15. ISSN 0188-8145.

The concept of functional detachment in behavior theory (Ribes & López, 1985) is analyzed. Some theoretical antecedents of this concept are revisited as well as its logical properties related to Aristotelian causes. The importance of efficient cause is pointed out in relation to the actualization of potency, as functional organization of an organism. From the perspective of a field theory, an attempt is made to identify the potency, what is being actualized, and the characteristics of every actualized function contingency. Measurement of the diverse forms of Aristotelian causality (mediation, contingency relations architecture, functional detachment and functional adjustment) as molar variables in a field model is proposed.

Palabras clave : Aristotelian causality; functional detachment; function contingency; field theory.
