Resumen

PERES, Rodrigo Sanches  y  SANTOS, Manoel Antônio dos. The actual psychosis concept on Joyce McDougall's psychoanalytic psychosomatics. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2010, vol.44, n.1, pp.99-108. ISSN 0486-641X.

This study has as its objective the contemplation of possible intersections between psychoanalysis, psychosomatics and psychopathology, from the delimitation of one of the most intriguing concepts proposed by McDougall: "actual psychosis". Although constituted with basis in a psychotic nucleus, actual psychosis remits to a pre-neurotic problem, as it doesn't result in the production of hallucinations or deliriums, but makes the body behaving in a delirious way, which predisposes the subject to organic diseases. Such diseases would be, ultimately, resultant of the action of somatic mechanisms, and not mental mechanisms, unchained by emotional conflicts. In other words: unlike the hysterical symptomatology promoted by conversion, they are without symbolic meaning. With the "actual psychosis" concept, therefore, the author delimits, in a daring way, a new horizon for psychoanalytical theorization, allowing the revision of the standing of the somatic patients' clinic.

Palabras clave : Psychoanalysis; body; psychosomatics; actual neurosis; clinical psychology.
