QUAGLIATTO, Helga de Souza Machado et al. The child psychoanalyst's place: weaving the plots between the private space of the clinical practice and the public space. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2017, vol.51, n.4, pp.55-70. ISSN 0486-641X.
This article is traced from a historical perspective which emphasizes how the child has gained a central role in the social scene and therefore in the psychoanalytic scene. The authors discuss the challenges the child analyst faces in contemporary times. Psychoanalysts are called to keep their place in the private relationship with the child. They are also called to deal with demands of those who surround the little analysand, i.e., parents, family, school, specialists, etc. In order to both understand and face such challenges, the authors analyze the possibility of transit between private and public space when addressing phenomena of paratransference and paracountertransference in the interventions with the environment. The psychoanalytic function remains unchanged (invariant).
