The Educom.radio Project had as main goal the promotion of citizenship throughout educomunication. The stories presented in this article took place in public schools of São Paulo, where, by means of the radio, teachers and students exercised the production of radio programs, as well as work in groups, citizenship and break through hierarchy of school community. The theory underlying the project refers to the educomunication as a proposal that goes beyond the education for the use of the medias, objectifying a critical analysis of the media and, over all, the exercise of opened “communicative ecosystem”, meant to be democratic and inclusive. As a conclusion, the article points at the importance of the radio for rescuing students orality and self esteem, creating bigger interest in participating of school’s community decisions and working together with teachers and school principals. By the end of the project, there were lot’s of educomunicators, people whose compromise to strengthen the bonds inside an “communicative ecosystem” is committed with a democratic management of the school and the respect of differences in society.
