The changes in the family affect the society as a whole and, particularly, the childrens education, reflecting also in the activities developed by the school. Having this problematic as background, it was considered opportune to research the news contours that the relationship family-school can take in the context of the formal education. For so much, an investigation was done in the ambit of a private institution of learning, that assists children from the infantile education to the fifth series, in which the childrens grandparents were situated as an extension of the nuclear family and configured as the possible family. As these people assumed, partially, the responsibility of their grandchildren, should it be for the childrens parents necessity of working all day long away from home or because of a crises or separation of the couple, it became essential to make a project which promoted the major possible integration between grandparents and school. In this sense, it was developed a participant research which aimed, basically, to determine the role of the possible family in the school context and in the teaching-learning process.
