The data show that the difficulties of housing, language acquisition and financial and work issues are the greatest obstacles in the adaptation process; however, the social support and religious practices have become facilitator aspects in the history of migration of these families. Within the family, changes were noted in the relational dynamics of the members regarding the lack of family members who did not immigrate, and also strengthening the emotional bonds after arrival in the host country.
