It also seeks to correlate the improvement in physical performance with the socialization of people with DS.This study aims to compare sports skills and social indicators in people with Down syndrome before and after a year of karate training and to correlate the physical performance improvements with the socialization of these people. The study included 53 (fifty three) people with a diagnosis of Down syndrome of both genders aged between four and sixty years old, enrolled in a sport project of a Cultural Inclusion Institute. The instruments were applied individually, and by correlation test. Such instruments intend to compare and evaluate the proposed constructs in PEI Sport and Map of the Social Network. The results show that in general, the karate tended to favor better relationships in all walks of life of people with Down syndrome. In addition, karate improved performance in all physical questions evaluated. These results suggest the benefits of karate in relation to the socialization of people with DS
