Currently, a trend is observed in the increase of the demand for employment in the labor market and, as a consequence, a higher demand for increasingly qualified professionals. Therefore, companies and individuals seek greater preparation to meet this contemporary demand, which often brings with it challenging characteristics. This article presents the analysis of the interviews with a group of students of a private higher education institution, located in the city of Curitiba/PR. and used the community social psychology as an epistemological approach, which understands the human being in his relations, with the purpose of raising awareness and facilitating the relationship of people in a group context. The analysis focused on the issues of perspective that students have regarding their employability and professional career. Twelve students participated in the semistructured interviews, from the courses of administration, accounting sciences, psychology and physiotherapy, who volunteered to participate. The responses from the interviews were transcribed and linked to the categories: (a) vocational choice, (b) perceptions of the labor market, (c) employability, (d) life project, and (e) preparation for the labor market. Content analysis was used as a form of assessment of the data. It was observed that students know little about the employability subject and seek to develop their career through studies, contact with other people, languages and professional courses, practical experiences, such as internships, and seek to improve their personal skills and competencies. Thinking about career and professional future generates contradictions in the students. Some feel anxiety and anguish and others have feelings of happiness and achievement. The professional future is already considered, however inarticulate with reality and concrete plans
