RUFATO, Fabrício Duim  y  FAVERO, Eveline. Place attachment and environmental satisfaction as predictors of well-being in children age 10-11. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2020, vol.40, n.98, pp.50-62. ISSN 1415-711X.

This paper analyzed the environmental relationship in children (age 10-11), considering the variables place attachment, place identity, environmental satisfaction and their influence on well-being, as well as differences in the averages by gender. The participants were 886 (478 girls, 405 boys), with an average age of 10.66 years (SD = 0.64), students of the sixth grade of a public elementary school in Cascavel-PR. A questionnaire was used for data collection, containing the Scales Place Attachment a = 0.78, Place Identity a = 0.79, Children's Environmental Satisfaction (a = 0.66, a = 0.62) and Personal Well-Being Index-School Children a = 0.74. Data were quantitatively analyzed using multiple linear regression (Stepwise Method) and Student's t-test. The study found that the variables environmental satisfaction (ß = 0.430; p = 0.001) and place attachment (ß = 0.143; p = 0.001) explain 25% (R2adj = 0.25) of personal well-being in children. The difference between the averages by sex was significant (t = 3.910; gl = 881; p = 0.001; DM = 0.28936; EPD = 0.07400) only in the nature-connectivity dimension, being the highest average for the boys' group. The variables that most contributed to the results were cleanliness of the schools, conviviality with the animals, affective relationship with the neighborhood and contact with nature, revealing the importance of the environmental relationship in its different aspects for child well-being.

Palabras clave : environmental satisfaction; place attachment; place identity; personal well-being; childhood.
