In spite of scientific advances in the de child-youth oncology area, the treatment still has several physical, emotional and social repercussions. In order to identify and minimize the impact of the disease, a number of resources may be applied, such as the projective techniques. In the case of children and adolescents, the use of drawings has proven itself greatly valuable a tool. Three drawings have been used in this article, so as to come closer to the patient's emotional experience: free and thematic drawing, subdivided into experience with the disease and affective aspects related to the Support Home. The research universe comprehended twelve patients ranging from five to fourteen years of age, hosted at a Support Home located in the city of Belo Horizonte, MG. The drawings show great reactive aggressiveness, with the use of figures demanding protection and affection, self-image projection, as well as alteration of the human figure. The analyzed data sign towards the recurrent need for care humanization programs and the importance the due room for dialogue and experience projection, providing a better quality of life and minimizing the implications of the treatment.
