SUEHIRO, Adriana Cristina Boulhoça y CARDIM, Neméia Aiêxa. Bender Graded Scoring System: A comparison by age, school year and sex in Bahia children. Aval. psicol. [online]. 2016, vol.15, n.2, pp.257-264. ISSN 1677-0471.
This study aimed to describe the perceptomotor development of Bahian students, as evaluated by Bender–Gradual Scoring System (B-SPG), and to explore differences related to age, school year and gender among the participants. The sample was composed of 388 school children, of both sexes, between 7 and 10 years of age (M=8.94, SD=0.9), from 2nd to 5th grade in inner city public schools in the state of of Bahia. The results indicated that 206 students had difficulties reproducing figures and therefore an impaired perceptomotor development. Older students and those in later school years had better B-SPG performance tan younger students or those in the lower grades. Although the boys experienced less distortion in the test, there was no significant difference between the sexes. These results are consistent with other studies and point to the importance of further research on the subject, especially in poorly investigated regions
