Resumen

JUNQUEIRA, Anamélia Maria Guimarães; CARNIEL, Isabel Cristina  y  MANTOVANI, Alexandre. The assemblies as a possibility of mental health care. Vínculo [online]. 2015, vol.12, n.1, pp.31-40. ISSN 1806-2490.

With the psychiatric reform movement, in late 70's, some discussions arose on the hospital hegemonic model and the subject/disease dichotomy, focusing on the symptoms and diagnoses, disregarding the subjects. Among the possibilities of new approaches and treatments for the subjects having mental disorders, the Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPs) show themselves as strategic equipment in mental health care. In these services, several modalities of treatments are offered, both on an individual basis and in groups. This study aims to discuss the Assembly as a group modality that can be also therapeutic, even though this is not its initial purpose. Through recordings in institutional minutes and field logs, the Assemblies were qualitatively reviewed and their results were discussed in light of the literature produced throughout the years of Psychiatric Reform, both in Brazil and abroad. The results of this study indicate the Assembly as a space that legitimates the insertion of the users in the institutional decisions and higher participation rate in their treatment, aiming to recover autonomy and power of acting.
