Resumen

ALBERTI, Sonia et al. Directions and dispersion: Questions for the psychoanalysis in the hospital. Estud. pesqui. psicol. [online]. 2008, vol.8, n.1. ISSN 1808-4281.

The relation of psychoanalysis and medicine in general hospitals as well as in psychiatric institutes testifies the importance of speech not only during clinical acts with patients but also in the exchange of ideas, diagnosis and treatment proposals between those who receive patients in these institutions. When no word is exchanged between professionnals, enourmous idiosyncrasies may occur, as shown by the exemple of the case Jovelina. When, on the contrary, people talk, then a mutual support of the work with patients is possible, whatever discipline and practices are involved. Only then the subject is implicated and real clinic can be done. The case Lia, an adolescent, shows this clearly! On the other hand, there are lots of cases through which psychoanalysis can learn from medicine and vice-versa. The hypothesis we sustain is that medicine and psychoanalysis are two fields of knowledge which are different and do cut into reality through their different perspectives, but only with the respect of these differences fructuous developpments can be achieved. We try to sustain this hypothesis through four clinical exemples
