SAVEIA, João Manuel; BASTOS, António Virgílio Bittencourt  y  PEIXOTO, Adriano de Lemos Alves. Professionalization of psychology in Angola: a work in progress. Estud. pesqui. psicol. [online]. 2015, vol.15, n.3, pp.1096-1117. ISSN 1808-4281.

The purpose of this study was to describe the historical underpinnings of the process of professionalization of psychology in Angola. The Data were collected through semi-structured interviews. Five professionals were interviewed by professional background, it is assumed that they are potential sources of information about the history of psychology in Angola. It was found that the professionalization of psychology is a work in progress and looking for its effective institutionalization. In this process, some challenges are presented, as the separation between political parties and the profession, creating an entity that brings together professionals and regulates the profession, the much needed separation between the professional psychologist's and those with a degree in Educational Sciences and the challenge of supporting operations in actions and tools that have empirical support in the research, considered as a basis for any intervention levels and any activities in the various subfields of psychology of action.

Palabras clave : professionalization; history; psychology in Angola.
