Resumen

SOUSA, Alexia Jade Machado  y  NOGUEIRA, Francisco Jander de Sousa. Narratives of LGBTQIA+ University People about Suicide. Estud. pesqui. psicol. [online]. 2022, vol.22, n.1, pp.32-49.  Epub 17-Mayo-2024. ISSN 1808-4281.  https://doi.org/10.12957/epp.2022.66451.

The objective of this work is to discuss and understand what are the issues surrounding suicide in the LGBTQIA+ community according to the narrative of some university students participating in that community. For the construction of the study, social health research was used, presenting a qualitative approach. In the production of data, a semi-structured interview script was used, which was mostly carried out remotely. The study had 11 interlocutors. The results were analyzed through discourse analysis, with four categories emerging from the interviews: invisibility; prejudice; violence; and access to health care. During results and discussion we list narratives of the interlocutors with themes raised by authors such as Foucault, Butler, Mbembe, among others. Thus, based on issues such as biopower, necropolitics and precarious lives, we discuss the vulnerabilities and crossings that permeate the life of an LGBTQIA+ body in relation to suicide, through the narrative of university students.

Palabras clave : suicide; LGBTQIA + people; mental health..
