SANTOS, Danielly Almeida Nascimento dos y SILVA, Ruana Santos da. Training of social skills in internet dependence: narrative bibliographical review. Rev. bras.ter. cogn. [online]. 2018, vol.14, n.2, pp.85-94. ISSN 1808-5687. https://doi.org/10.5935/1808-5687.20180013.
With the advent of the Internet and its attractions, the exacerbated use can lead to damages for the user, establishing the internet dependence. This is considered as the inability to control their own access to the internet, showing difficulties in controlling online hours, functional impairments, in psychological and social well-being and symptoms of tolerance and withdrawal. In this way, its neurochemical components resemble substance dependencies. Among its resources, the Internet has modified the way social interaction is handled, with social deficits being a risk factor and a consequence of internet dependence. Thus, social skills are configured as a protection factor. In this context, based on narrative bibliographical review, with reference to books and journals in the LILACS and SCIELO databases, the objective was to analyze the Social Skills Training as an intervention for internet dependence, establishing relationships between internet dependence and social skills. In dependence on the internet, addressing the underlying causes is essential, for this reason, Social Skills Training is relevant for prevention and treatment.
