Resumen

CANAVEZ, Fernanda. Violence after Freudian social theories. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2014, vol.66, n.1, pp.33-48. ISSN 1809-5267.

This work discusses violence by means of the a posteriori construction of the dialogue between Freud and theorists from other fields of knowledge. We seek, at the onset of Freudian thought, a perspective which is confident as for the regulation of social bonds due to the alleged neutralization of aggressiviness. Thus, Freud would be in line with the bet of positivist science on the progress of civilization. This is not the only Freudian conception on the subject, since there is a change for a sight, more  attentive to the cruelty, that pervades relations and the constitution of the subject. This reading embed psychoanalysis in the wake of criticism addressed to the march of civilization through its attempts to immunize the subject from the oversized dimension that constitutes it, in addition to demonstrate that the Freudian thought extrapolates usual classifications of the social sciences about subject and civilization.

Palabras clave : Violence; Psychoanalysis; Freud; Modernity.
