Social identity is the result of an affiliation process to a determined social category. The processes that constitute and determine urban social identity of the groups and communities is the result of a sense of belonging to a significant and specific environment, in this way the environment becomes one more social category. When the community develops a form of social identity which makes it different and distinguishable from other communities, can be an important tool to carry on actions to obtain its objectives and goals. Through a qualitative methodology, the present research describes and compares the conforming elements of the urban social identity of two territories. One of them, presents a strengthened identity and the other a weakened one.
