TONON, Leonardo y GRISCI, Carmem Ligia Iochins. Managerialism, lifestyles and (im)possibilities of breaks in the executive career. Gerais, Rev. Interinst. Psicol. [online]. 2014, vol.7, n.2, pp.247-259. ISSN 1983-8220.
The socioeconomic changes evidenced in recent decades have contributed to the intensification of experiences relating to work, management and career. In this context, new demands are being imposed on the person or subject who works. The present study uses this question as its starting point: how managerialism contributes to the production of lifestyles and (im)possibilities of breaks in an executive career? It is based on three pillars of discussion: career, especially understood as protean and without limits (Hall, 1996; Sullivan and Arthur, 2006), modes of subjectivity or modes of lifestyle production (Rolnik & Guattari, 2005; Deleuze, 2005 ), and managerialism (Gaulejac, 2007). The purpose of this study is to promote reflections on the (re)production of lifestyles based on the influence of managerialism, as well as the (im)possible disruptions in relation to the executive career. In this sense, this discussion highlights the relevance and the necessity of expanding the study agendas on the subject.
